Wow! What a ride the last 2 months have been... Here's a quick update on William: The best thing that we've experienced with him are his smiles and coos. It is so nice to be able to interact with him now and see his smiles. (Sometimes he even smiles or laughs in his sleep.) It makes all the other hard stuff worth it. (I usually just have to get up with him once now in the middle of the night... USUALLY. The middle-of-the-night feedings are no longer so brutal.) Just one smile makes you forget about everything else. He'll usually talk with you and smile if you talk with him (when he's in a good mood, which is often right after he nurses). He has also been improving with his hand-eye coordination. He has been sucking on his hands more and can follow objects and people with his eyes. He has also been rubbing his eyes a lot, especially when he wakes up or when he is tired, though not always with great precision (sometimes he misses his eyes, but he's getting better at it!). =) The cradle crap is finally receding from his face, but he's got a whole lot of it in his scalp now. =( Oh, well. It'll go away eventually.
It has been a joy to watch him grow. We are always so amazed to see how quickly he is gaining in weight and in length. His face is filling out now, and his eyebrows are really coming in. He still does his stretching, but not as much anymore. =( Our little boy is growing up so fast! =( He has long outgrown his newborn diapers and sleepers. But it is incredible seeing him grow up and to witness his developing personality. He definitely has been a blessing.

The best stuff in the world for "cradle crap" is the Mustela brand foam shampoo. It worked wonders for my kids. I have extra if you want to try it!

William is so beautiful! As difficult as motherhood may be on some days, do the smiles of our little ones not make it seem so worth it? Merichel flashes her beaming smile at me or sends a 'raspberry' in my direction and in an instant my day is so much better than it was the moment before. Jeff and I have to get together with you three to introduce the kids!
