Josiah has been such an incredible joy these last 3 months. Though he had a rough start to life, the Lord has been so faithful to sustain him.
He may still look like a newborn to most people, but he is big and cute and chubby to Bill and I. =) He has grown so much! Josiah has not had a major choking episode for a month now, so we're hoping it's b/c he's outgrowing it as his body develops and matures. Btw, he's no longer hooked up to the apnea monitor, although we still have it. With the series of thunderstorms over the last couple of weeks and having to unplug the monitor during those times, we've just gotten accustomed to him not having it on. And he has been doing great without it! Let's hope the pulmonologist is as understanding. =P
Other than that, Josiah continues to eat and sleep most of the time. He can sleep through the night anywhere between 4-7 hours straight, but it's usually on the lower end. He still weighs a little less than William when William began sleeping through the night, so we're hoping it's just a matter of time until Josiah can follow suit.
The neatest thing, by far, is how much Josiah smiles and how social he has become. He almost always responds right away with smiles when people talk to him (unless he's tired or hungry). He responds more to his nickname "Smiles" than his own name. It is the cutest thing to see him when he is finished with his bottle. He will usually push the nipple out with his tongue and do it all with a great, big smile. I love seeing what a content heart the Lord has given him, especially as he rarely cries (unless he's tired or hungry). =) Even then, his cries don't usually last very long. He is a considerably good-natured baby, and his toothless grins are so very priceless. We hope the Lord will continue grow his content heart as he gets older and that it's not just a baby phase.
We love this little monkey!!!!
