staycation ‘09 (part 3)

William got sick after going to Dutch Wonderland. So we decided to take it easy and altered a few of our plans so he could be at home to take his naps and get some rest.

To keep things simple, we just decided to go to the South Germantown Recreational Park one afternoon. Bill was saving this for a family outing someday, but suggested it for us since we needed something easy to do for our staycation. =) (He had to stay home and work.) =( Thanks for giving that up for us, Boo.

South Germantown Recreational Park

I can’t tell you how much William LOVED this park. It was absolutely amazing and like no other park I have EVER been to. And the weather! It was absolutely gorgeous! My brother and I kept saying we would have totally loved being able to grow up going to a park like this. Here are some highlights…

William was very fond of playing on the bulldozer.

William really had a good time climbing up these… foot-holds.

This was one of the few things William couldn’t do. He couldn’t quite reach the rope on the sides, so the balancing was difficult for him.

There was also a ship!

This picture always makes my heart flutter for some reason. It reminds me of how fast William is growing up. =(

This is the crow’s nest for the ship, which was separate from it.

I gotta tell you how impressed I was with this park! It even had musical instruments there that were actually in tune!

Ah-ma and the boys... William looks stank, of course. (He hates taking pictures for some reason.)

Love both these pics (above & below)!

William did not want to go home even though we had spent more than a couple of hours there. =) We certainly look forward to taking the boys there again sometime in the near future! What a find!
