a new frontier

(Ok, picture saying this to the Star Trek theme. You know... "Space, the final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise..." etc.)

William's diaper, a new frontier... these are the voyages of Uncle Jimmy, his continuing mission to explore strange new baby things, to seek out new odors and new natural stirrings, to boldly go where he has never gone before...

Uncle Jimmy embarked on a new frontier. Here are some pics of him changing his first diaper ever. And not only was it any old diaper, but he changed a poopy diaper at that. This was to help prepare him for his babysitting gig with William when we would be away at a wedding.

Voila! Piece of cake... Great job, Uncle Jimmy!

(Btw, did you like my clever transposition of the Star Trek theme? And it only took me a minute to think of it!)

go, bruin!

Congratulations, Jimmy! No more school... forever!!! Yea!!

Jimmy graduated today with a Masters in Business Administration. (I hope I got that right.) Although we were almost late for the graduation (LA traffic is ridiculous!), we had a great time strolling through the stunning UCLA campus. (My heels were killing me though...) It really is an amazing campus with exotic plants/flowers and beautiful architecture. The ceremony was right outside the Anderson School of Business. Only in California could you just sit outside all day, without any tents, and enjoy the weather.

Some highlights...

Just a glimpse of this gorgeous campus...

Here comes the grad...

Congrats, Uncle Jimmy!

We are so proud of you, Jimmy, and so happy that we could be here to celebrate the end of one season and beginning of another in God's plan for you.

yea, formula!

HE DID IT!!! William is now taking the bottle with all formula... finally! We are so proud of our baby, even though it was a transition he wouldn't have preferred. I'm still nursing in conjunction, but don't know how much longer that will last. I wanted to nurse him until he was at least 6 months, but since that's only another month away, Bill and I didn't see the point in pumping to build my milk supply only to wean him in a month. So we might as well start doing it now...(sigh). Although we're not sure when he'll totally go to formula, we are so grateful that he won't starve now if I run out of milk. =) What a huge answer to prayer! Thank the Lord!

On another happy note... Happy 30th Birthday, Uncle Jimmy! Man... you're old! =)
